The annual highlight of the German gliding scene
The Gliding Day is the annual meeting of the gliding community, organized by the Federal Commission for Gliding of the German Aero Club (DAeC). The event is hosted each year by a different gliding club or association. It is aimed at gliders from all over Germany and offers a unique platform for exchange, information and celebrations.
The focus of the event is on the reports of the Federal Commission for Gliding, which provide a review of the past year and an outlook on future developments. A special highlight are the honors for deserving athletes for their achievements. Additionally, coveted training aircraft are awarded to dedicated juniors.
For participants, there is a wide range of specialist lectures on topics from sport, flight safety, aviation technology, meteorology and club management. At the same time, a small trade fair takes place where exhibitors present their products and innovations.

The Gliding Day is the ideal opportunity to network with like-minded people from the entire German gliding scene. The day ends with an evening event including a party, where participants can wind down the day in a relaxed atmosphere and celebrate the community.

Parking options in the event area are very limited. We therefore strongly recommend using public transport.
Travel comfortably with Deutsche Bahn long-distance transport. Hamburg Dammtor station is just a few minutes' walk from the venue.
Hamburg is easily accessible via highways A1, A7 and A24. However, note the limited parking options.
Hamburg Airport (HAM) is well connected. From there you can reach the venue in about 30 minutes.
In Hamburg, it's best to use the HVV (Hamburg Transport Network).
The following recommendations are non-binding suggestions. There are no reserved hotel quotas for the event. We therefore strongly recommend booking your accommodation early.
A 5-star hotel with comprehensive service and upscale ambiance. It is located in close proximity to the venue and Dammtor station.
A privately run hotel known for its personal atmosphere and central location.
This hotel is located directly at Dammtor station and offers high comfort and excellent connection to public transport.
This hostel is a good choice for budget-conscious participants. It is located near the main station and therefore very well connected.
A hostel in the vibrant Schanzenviertel with a central location and good connection to U-Bahn and S-Bahn.
